This workshop is for all levels and presents drawings as a creative process to practice focus, mark making, and hash out ideas. Students will be creating a series of drawings with the use of paint, stencils, color pencils, thread, watercolors and inks. The intent of this workshop is to explore and loosen up your art making through testing out a variety of materials on multiple sheets of paper. A still life will be set up as a starting point for creating images by observation. Then warm up into making works based on imagination, filling the page with lines, shapes and colors. The instructor will share her techniques of building layers and experimenting with drawing tools to gradually develop with each work. A series of small 5 by 7 inch drawings on paper become a way to exercise your artistic expression. At the end of the workshop, participants will have created a series of mixed media works on paper. This class is limited to 6 students to allow for socially distancing, masks will also be required.
