SPECIAL FEATURE: Four Female Artists Bring Creativity into their Workplace
The inspiration for her artwork came from a recent trip to California. She enjoys illustrating imaginary landscapes, yet includes memories of places she has traveled. Using gifted pastel pencils, Bartley created vibrant drawings that stand out.

“returning to Syracuse from Los Angeles, where she recently completed her MFA through a residency. After months of studio practice, meeting Los Angeles artists and assimilating into its art scene, she found herself wondering whether she fit in Syracuse on her cross-country drive back.
Though some of its pieces predate her trip west, Bartley's "Unsettled Configurations" visually expresses the feelings it wrought. Broken frames, barriers and stony fragments are recurring motifs in pieces like "Shuffle," which were created from drawing, painting, collage and mixed media.”
